Under the occupation by the U.S., Okinawa local election was done in March 13. As a result, “the Liaison Council for protect democracy ” which is supported by Okinawa patriot democratic power, gained the large progress though they received many disturbance by the USA and the local conservative power. The council gained 5 seats, has increased 3 seats than before. However the Democratic Party which supports the occupation by USA was beaten completely and was decreased from 24 seats to 7.

The aggressor America engineered schemes, took various means to damage the election activity of Okinawa patriot power and to relieve the Anti-American sentiment. The most shameless way was that it pretended to be a Beijing TV news program and broadcasted to Okinawa in the evening before the election. This faked program told as a discourse of Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman of China: “China never abandon Ryukyu(*ancient name of Okinawa)”. This is a villainous provocation to smash the passion for Okinawan people's return to the mainland. (omit) Needless to say, such a series of story shows who broadcasted that fabrication program.
In the declarations about the Draft of the San Francisco Peace Treaty in August 15, 1951, our prime minister Zhou Enlai indicated in the context of the protest against the trusteeship for Ryukyu and Ogasawara: “These islands never have been separated from Japan even by any international treaties in the past.”*1 (omit) These nasty means by USA only prove that its military base policy gradually worsened people's feeling and now hang by a thread.
Although American imperialist had taken such shameless ways, it could not obstruct this rapid progress of the power base of their democracy. The result of this parliament election obviously shows that the Okinawa people oppose to the nuclear weapon base and that their patriot democratic power is made the rapid progress. We believe the people of Okinawa will certainly achieve the purpose if they act and fight together.
